Principal Application Engineer, SiC Products
onsemi is looking for an experienced engineer to join the SiC Product Division as a Principal Applications Engineer. As a Principal Applications Engineer, you will work in a fast‑paced team that evaluates new Silicon Carbide (SiC) technologies, validates next‑generation SiC products and supports release to production. The work includes theoretical analysis of power converter topologies, simulation, and hands‑on bench testing. You will interact with leading global customers and collaborate with teams across onsemi. You will also have a direct influence on future product roadmaps.
This is a highly visible role and includes up to 10 percent travel to support customers worldwide.

Working time: Flexible working hours (core time 9,30-15,00)
Salary: From 3 500 EUR, depends on candidate’s experience
Job description:
- Evaluate and validate advanced SiC products
- Work in a modern, well‑equipped high‑power laboratory
- Design and test evaluation boards, and write application notes and datasheets
- Partner with marketing to create collateral and support tradeshows
- Collaborate with customers on complex power semiconductor challenges and build long‑term technical relationship
Requirements:
- Bachelor’sMaster’s or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with SiC products validation is strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of power converter topologies
- Solid knowledge of SiC device behavior and key tradeoffs
- Familiarity with control theory, analog circuits, power supply design, and basic digital electronics
- Experience with PCB layout, LabView, and/or Python is a plus
- Strong proficiency with SPICE simulators, SIMPLIS/Simetrix, and MATLAB or equivalent tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
